Hyderabad: Telangana Minister for Minorities Welfare and Public Enterprises Mohammed Azharuddin held a review meeting with chairpersons of various minority welfare bodies and senior departmental officials at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat on Saturday.

The Minister directed officials to work in coordination, identify pending issues and resolve them one by one. He said he was clearing files promptly and urged officials to speed up their work and ensure that welfare schemes reach the intended beneficiaries.

The meeting reviewed issues related to the Waqf Board, Urdu Academy, Shahi Mosque, TGMREIS, Qazis and other minority welfare bodies. Azharuddin assured officials that he would ensure there were no administrative hurdles in the functioning of departments under his ministry.

Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir suggested that issues such as graveyards be included in the agenda of the Collectors’ Conference for timely resolution. TGMREIS President Faheem Qureshi said the Congress government was working sincerely and urged officials to ensure that the government’s welfare initiatives were properly highlighted.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Minorities Welfare Ahmed Nadeem, Secretary B. Shafiullah, Haj Committee Chairman Ghulam Afzal Biyabani, Urdu Academy Chairman Taher Bin Hamdan, Minority Finance Corporation Chairman Ubaidullah Kotwal, Christian Minority Finance Corporation Chairman Deepak John and other officials.
