Karimnagar: August 28, Karimnagar Collector Chitra Mishra, along with senior officials, conducted a surprise inspection of the dumping yard near Sirsapalli in Huzurabad mandal on Thursday night.

The inspection followed objections from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) over garbage being dumped near NH-563. The Collector directed officials to dispose of waste only at the designated location away from the national highway.

She also instructed officials to undertake plantation drives and develop greenery along the highway. The Collector suggested exploring alternative routes for garbage vehicles and asked officials to prepare a proper traffic movement plan to ensure waste transportation does not inconvenience commuters or affect the highway environment.

The Additional Collector, RTO officials, NHAI Project Director and Tahsildar were among those who participated in the inspection.
