Woman’s Body Found Stuffed in Car Boot in Hanamkonda, Two Taken Into Custody

Hanamkonda: Tension prevailed in the Elkathurthy mandal area of Hanamkonda district after the body of a 33-year-old woman was found stuffed inside a bag in the boot of a car that had reportedly been parked at the location for three days.

Locals reportedly noticed a foul smell coming from the vehicle and alerted the police. Elkathurthy Circle Inspector Puli Ramesh and Sub-Inspector Narsimha Rao reached the spot and inspected the car. Police found the woman’s body in the boot and informed the CLUES team for further investigation. The body was shifted to a government hospital for post-mortem examination.

The deceased was identified as Ankati Manasa, 33, a divorcee and native of Godavarikhani in Peddapalli district. Police reportedly identified her based on an Aadhaar card found in the vehicle.

The car, bearing registration number TS 03 FF 8094, was traced to Surender Reddy of Elkathurthy, who had reportedly rented it to a software employee identified as Vinod. Police have taken both Surender Reddy and Vinod into custody for questioning.

During questioning, Vinod reportedly told police that he and Manasa had been friends for several years and had travelled to Karimnagar to attend a function three days earlier. According to his statement, they stayed in a room in Karimnagar, where an argument allegedly broke out between them over marriage.

Vinod reportedly claimed that Manasa subsequently suffered a seizure and died unexpectedly. Fearing the consequences, he allegedly placed her body inside the car and abandoned the vehicle.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Manasa’s death and are awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the exact cause of death. Further investigation is underway.
