100 Weekend Wonders of Telangana’ Poster Unveiled in Nirmal

Nirmal,Dec.23(Abdul Majid): The Department of Youth, Sports and Tourism, Nirmal district, on Monday unveiled the poster of the innovative programme “100 Weekend Wonders of Telangana”, aimed at identifying and promoting lesser-known tourist destinations across the State.

The poster was released by Additional Collector (Revenue) L. Kishore Kumar in the presence of senior district officials. The initiative is being implemented in coordination with District Tourism Officer B. Srikanth Reddy.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kishore Kumar said the programme was launched by the Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) to showcase scenic and culturally significant locations that have remained largely unexplored. He called upon youth to actively participate in the initiative, which is dedicated to the people of Telangana.

Interested youth, photographers, videographers, poets and writers from the district can submit entries highlighting lesser-known tourist spots in Nirmal. Submissions, limited to 100 words, along with photographs and videos, can be sent through Google Forms or social media by tagging the official accounts of the State Tourism Department. The objective of the competition is to identify 100 new tourist destinations, including waterfalls, ancient temples and trekking points, and compile them into a coffee table book. Entries are invited under 10 categories, including Nature, Wildlife, Art and Culture, Heritage, Water Resources, Cuisine, Farm Stays, Resorts, Spiritual and Adventure tourism.

Each entry must include three photographs, a 60-second video, and information on transport, accommodation and budget. Prizes include ₹50,000 for first place, ₹30,000 for second place and ₹20,000 for third place, while consolation winners will be offered a free stay at Haritha Hotels.

Entries must be submitted by January 5, 2026, and the winners will be announced during the Sankranti festival, officials said.
