Union Minister Kishan Reddy Addresses Media on Fuel Supply Concerns
Hyderabad: Union Minister Kishan Reddy clarified that recent concerns among people in Telangana regarding petrol, diesel, and LPG supply are unfounded and driven by misinformation.
He stated that while a few petrol pumps temporarily faced supply interruptions, there is no actual shortage of fuel in Telangana or across India.
The Minister explained that the current situation is influenced by global geopolitical tensions and war-like conditions, as India depends on imports for petroleum products.
Despite these challenges, the Government of India is taking effective measures—including increasing domestic refining capacity and ensuring continuous fuel imports—to maintain stable supply.
Kishan Reddy also highlighted that the government is in constant touch with international partners to secure fuel, even at global market prices, to ensure no inconvenience to citizens.
He emphasized the rising demand due to increasing vehicle usage and noted the success of schemes like Ujjwala Yojana, which has expanded LPG access in rural areas.
The Minister urged citizens to avoid panic buying and not believe social media rumours, which have caused unnecessary rush at fuel stations.
He reassured that oil companies have confirmed there is no shortage, and supplies are running smoothly.
Kishan Reddy called on the public to remain calm, act responsibly, and support the nation in facing global challenges with unity.
