Grand 10th Death Anniversary Celebrations of Gaddam Venkataswamy

Karimnagar, 22nd December 2024 (Patriotic Views) : The Telangana State Government has emphasized the importance of providing quality education, as announced by the State Minister for Irrigation and Public Supply, Captain N. Uttam Kumar Reddy. He revealed that the State Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, has drawn up plans to ensure quality education across the state.
The celebrations were held in Bagh Lingampally at the 50th anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Educational Institutions, along with the 10th death anniversary of Congress Party senior leader, founder of educational institutions, and former Union Minister, the late Gaddam Venkataswamy. Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy was the chief guest at the event.
The event was attended by several notable figures, including Speaker Gaddam Prasad, Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar, legislators Gaddam Vivek, Lok Sabha member Gaddam Vamsikrishna, College Secretary, MLA Gaddam Vinod, and Dr. Saroj, among others.
Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy further mentioned that the Telangana Government is committed to providing quality education to students from underprivileged, backward, Dalit, tribal, and minority communities. He highlighted the government’s plans to set up international standard integrated schools with a budget of 300 crore rupees across every constituency center, covering 25 acres of land.
He also revealed that the government intends to establish 119 such schools across 119 constituencies with an estimated expenditure of 5,000 crore rupees to ensure quality education. The government has already decided to launch these schools in 60 constituencies, while proposals for the remaining 59 are in the process of being finalized.
The Minister criticized the previous government for collapsing the education system, pointing out that no teacher appointments were made in the last 10 years, which has significantly impacted the system. However, the Congress Party government, upon taking power, immediately launched 11,000 job recruitments, with a special focus on strengthening primary education.
He also reminded that the previous government had put pending fee reimbursements for backward students in higher education, resulting in dues of 5,197 crores that now need to be cleared. The current government has vowed to resolve this issue by offering installment plans so that students do not suffer.
Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy praised the services of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Educational Institutions, which have been providing valuable services for five decades without collecting donations, focusing on delivering education to poor students. He emphasized the importance of transforming such institutions into universities, to continue their legacy.
Reflecting on his own educational journey, the Minister shared his experiences of paying just five rupees in fees during his 12th grade, and later joining the National Defence Academy and serving as a pilot for the country’s defense. He recalled working with Presidents R. Venkataraman and Shankar Dayal Sharma and emphasized that the late Gaddam Venkataswamy was a legend in Indian politics.
He concluded by highlighting the ongoing legacy of Venkataswamy’s family, with his sons Vivek and Vinod, and the third generation, represented by Vamsikrishna, continuing to make their mark in politics.
