Improving Educational Standards Should Be the Goal: Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durishetti

Hyderabad, 18 December 2024 (Patriotic Views): Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durishetti emphasized the importance of delivering quality education in a simplified manner to raise educational standards across the district. Addressing a meeting with Deputy EOs, Deputy IOS, and Complex HM officials at the Collectorate conference hall on Wednesday, the Collector laid out a series of measures to enhance learning outcomes in schools.
The Collector stressed that at least 75% of students in every classroom should be able to read and write proficiently. To achieve this, he recommended implementing a special reading plan aimed at improving students’ foundational literacy and writing skills.
During classroom inspections, the Collector advised officials to conduct a constructive analysis while maintaining a friendly approach with teachers. He urged special focus on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) during school visits and emphasized reviewing academic guidance registers and worksheets for progress tracking. Additionally, he suggested prioritizing improvements in districts with fewer inspections and ensuring workbooks are thoroughly completed, with necessary corrections made and backline tests conducted every Monday.
To further boost accountability and results, the Collector directed complex headmasters and mandal nodal officers to ensure 100% school visits. He stressed the need for creating action plans to enhance school infrastructure, addressing issues such as blackboard maintenance, dual desk availability, and improving the midday meal program to ensure better outcomes, particularly for Class 10 examinations.
The meeting saw active participation from District Education Officer A. Rohini, Umadevi, Deputy EOs, Deputy IOS, Complex Headmasters, and other key officials, all of whom committed to implementing the suggested measures.
