Government of Telangana Announces Welfare Schemes for Minority Community

Hyderabad, Dec 12: Patriotic Views | In a significant move for the welfare and upliftment of minority communities, the Government of Telangana, through the Telangana Minorities Finance Corporation (TGMFC), has announced several schemes aimed at empowering minority women and supporting underprivileged families.
Key Initiatives
- Free Domestic Sewing Machines under “Indiramma Mahila Shakthi” Scheme: Minority women can avail of free domestic sewing machines to enhance their livelihood opportunities.
- Financial Assistance under “Indiramma Minority Mahila Yojana”: Minority women will receive financial aid to set up petty businesses or work as street vendors, fostering self-reliance.
- Rehabilitation of Families under “Special Livelihood Project”: Minority families residing in the Musi River Bed dwelling units across Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and Medchal districts will be rehabilitated with a subsidy loan package of ₹2 lakh. Of this, ₹1.4 lakh will be provided as a subsidy by TGMFC, while ₹60,000 will be offered as a loan through SERP/STREENIDHI.
Application Process
Minority women interested in the Sewing Machines Scheme are required to submit applications online via the TGOBMMS web portal (www.tgobmms.cgg.gov.in) from December 13 to December 31, 2024. After completing the online application, applicants must submit a hard copy with requisite documents to the Office of the District Minority Welfare Officer in their respective districts.
