Celebrations Mark One Year of Telangana Congress Government at Charminar

Hyderabad, December 7:Patriotic Views Desk | A special event titled “Praja Palana, Praja Vijayotsavalu” (Public Governance, Public Success) was organized at the historic Charminar to mark one year of the Telangana Congress government. The event was held under the supervision of Old City Assembly in-charges.
The program featured Transport and BC Welfare Minister, Punam Prabhakar, as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included Rajya Sabha MP Anil Kumar Yadav, MLC Amir Ali Khan, MLA Danam Nagender, and State Library Chairman Riyaz, among other prominent leaders and assembly in-charges.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Punam Prabhakar highlighted the achievements of the Congress government over the past year, saying:
“Telangana’s Congress government was formed in line with the aspirations of the people. We renamed Pragathi Bhavan as ‘Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan.’ Within 48 hours of forming the government, we implemented free RTC bus travel for women, benefiting 116 crore women so far and saving ₹4,000 crore for them.”
He further added:
“We have increased the Arogyasri health insurance limit from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh. Initiatives like 200 units of free electricity and ₹500 gas cylinders have also been implemented. Additionally, ₹2 lakh farm loans were waived, and ₹1,100 crore has been allocated to improve infrastructure in government schools. Over the past year, we have filled 55,143 government job vacancies.”

The minister criticized opposition parties for attempting to undermine the government’s achievements, stating:
“The opposition needs to act responsibly. If they provide constructive suggestions for Telangana’s development, we are open to considering them.”
Criticism of Central Government
Minister Punam Prabhakar also questioned the performance of the BJP-led central government, which has been in power for 11 years, saying:
“What has the central government done for Telangana in the past 11 years? Even during the recent floods, no compensation was provided. Despite our repeated appeals, Telangana has faced discrimination at the hands of the center.”

He urged BJP leaders to explain their contributions to Hyderabad and Telangana, asking:
“What have you done for the city’s iconic lakes, rock formations, and tourism? What tangible benefits have you delivered to the state?”
Concluding his speech, the minister reassured the public of the Congress government’s commitment to their welfare and development, emphasizing that the administration will continue to work tirelessly to address their concerns.
