KCR Death Remarks Escalate Telangana Political Row as BRS Protests Against Shadnagar MLA
Hyderabad: Sept 8, Shadnagar Congress MLA Veerlapally Shankar made controversial remarks while Congress leaders were heading towards KCR’s residence in Erravelli. He said they were going there to play “Chavu Dappu,” a drum traditionally associated with funeral processions.
Shankar also said that KCR was a problem for the state and that there was a need to get rid of him. His remarks triggered a political controversy, with the BRS strongly objecting.
BRS workers staged a protest against Shankar at Shadnagar crossroads and burnt his effigy. The protest was led by former Shadnagar MLA Anjaiah Yadav.
The BRS demanded action against the Congress MLA and an apology for his remarks. Congress has not issued a separate official clarification on the statement.
