Hyderabad: September 7, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the “most dangerous person” for the country and appealed to Communist and Left parties to join hands with the Congress to fight the BJP-led government at the Centre.

Speaking at a memorial meeting for veteran Communist leader Comrade Sarampalli Malla Reddy in Hyderabad, Revanth Reddy alleged that the BJP was adopting new strategies to win elections after failing to gain the people’s trust through democratic means. He accused the Union government of using the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process to delete anti-BJP votes, particularly targeting SCs, STs and minorities.

The Chief Minister alleged that the BJP was adopting a strategy in Telangana similar to that used in West Bengal and was systematically removing votes considered unfavorable to the party. He claimed that there was a conspiracy to delete one crore votes in Telangana and alleged that private agencies were also being used for surveys and voter deletions.

Revanth Reddy criticised the Election Commission for allegedly being used to advance the BJP’s political agenda and questioned the BRS for remaining silent on the issue of alleged vote deletions under SIR. He appealed to Communist parties to support the Congress in what he described as a fight to protect voting rights.

“We should be united and fight against Modi in the country,” Revanth Reddy said, adding that safeguarding elections and the fundamental rights of poor people were separate but equally important issues. He praised Communist parties for their long-standing struggle for the rights of the poor and said the Red Flag continued to represent confidence and security for disadvantaged sections.

The Chief Minister also highlighted several welfare measures and laws enacted by Congress governments, including the Minimum Wages Act, Food Security Act and Employment Guarantee Act. He said Congress governments had addressed several issues raised by Left parties, including land rights for the landless. Revanth Reddy said 24.56 lakh acres of assigned land had been distributed, while around 10 lakh acres were currently with Adivasis.

Remembering Sarampalli Malla Reddy, the Chief Minister said the veteran farmers’ leader had risen from a remote area to the national stage and dedicated his life to farmers’ causes. He described Malla Reddy’s death as an irreparable loss to the farming community and praised his deep understanding of farmers’ issues and his ability to articulate them.

Revanth Reddy said the state government would work to address farmers’ concerns by considering the issues highlighted in Malla Reddy’s writings and speeches. He also said the government would consult Cabinet colleagues before taking a decision on developing a memorial in his honour.
