The Indiramma Praja Prabhutvam is working with complete commitment towards the welfare of government employees. The government gives the highest priority to employee welfare and protection of their rights. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka stated that the people’s government, which believes in the spirit of democracy, is committed to working for the welfare of employees.

On Sunday, the Deputy Chief Minister conducted a high-level review meeting with members of the Employees Health Scheme (EHS) Trust Board and senior officials at Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said the government had introduced the health card scheme to ensure health security for government employees, their family members and dependents. He said the scheme was brought into effect with the humanitarian objective of resolving a long-pending issue that employees had been waiting for over several decades.

Bhatti Vikramarka said that all government employees are an integral part of the government and that ensuring their good health is one of its primary objectives. He said the government had taken the scheme seriously and implemented it despite facing several financial constraints, with the noble objective of ensuring that employees, their families and dependents do not face financial or mental hardship when they fall ill.

He said the government had held several meetings with employee associations while designing the scheme and framing its guidelines, and had taken their suggestions and views into consideration. He made it clear that everyone has a responsibility to make the scheme, which was introduced by the people’s government with a humanitarian approach towards employees, a success.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that 354 private hospitals are already empanelled under the EHS, while several more hospitals have been included under the deemed-empanelled system. He directed officials to hold meetings with the managements of these hospitals and take necessary measures to ensure effective implementation of the scheme.

He also instructed officials to further accelerate the process of issuing health cards. He cautioned senior officials not to take the employee welfare scheme lightly. He said the government is working with utmost sincerity and commitment on matters concerning the health of employees and has a clear determination to implement the scheme successfully.

Bhatti Vikramarka said that the problems of government employees had not been addressed by successive governments for the past ten years. He recalled that after the Praja Prabhutvam came to power, the health card scheme was introduced keeping the welfare of employees in mind.

He reiterated that the government is extremely serious and committed to safeguarding the health of employees and the welfare of their families. He called upon officials and employee associations to discharge their respective responsibilities in making the health card scheme a success.

Government Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, JAD Special Chief Secretary Mahesh Dutt Ekka, Health & Medical Principal Secretary Christina, Home Department Secretary Mogitha Rana, EHS CEO Hanumanthu, leaders of employee associations and other officials participated in the review meeting.
