G. Kishan Reddy Announces ₹45 Crore ROB for Jogulamba Railway Gate; Station Modernisation 95% Complete
Hyderabad: Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy on Monday announced that 95 per cent of the modernisation works at the Gadwal–Jogulamba Railway Station have been completed. The Minister visited the station to inspect the ongoing development works.
Addressing the media, Kishan Reddy said that 42 railway stations across Telangana are being upgraded with modern passenger amenities under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, as part of the infrastructure push by the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said the upgraded stations are being equipped with enhanced passenger facilities, including modern platforms, spacious waiting halls, escalators and improved accessibility features. Major stations such as Mahabubnagar, Vikarabad, Tandur, Hyderabad (Nampally), Secunderabad, Moulali and Cherlapally are being developed to international standards.
Highlighting the significance of the Jogulamba Railway Station, the Minister said it is being designed with architectural elements that reflect the spiritual and cultural heritage of the nearby Jogulamba Ammavari Temple at Alampur, one of the country’s revered Shakti Peethas. The station modernisation, being carried out at a cost of ₹6.7 crore, is expected to greatly benefit devotees visiting the temple from across India and abroad.
Kishan Reddy said the remaining works would be completed soon, after which the modernised station would be dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Minister also announced that the Central Government has sanctioned ₹45 crore for the construction of a Rail Over Bridge (ROB) at the railway gate near the Jogulamba Railway Station. The project aims to eliminate traffic bottlenecks caused by the level crossing and ensure smoother movement of pilgrims and local residents travelling to the world-famous Jogulamba Temple.
He said the ROB would significantly improve road connectivity, reduce travel delays and make access to the temple safer and more convenient for the growing number of devotees visiting the Shakti Peetha every year.
The Minister further said Telangana’s railway sector is witnessing unprecedented growth, with railway projects worth nearly ₹80,000 crore currently under implementation across the State. He noted that line doubling, tripling and quadrupling projects are progressing rapidly, while 100 per cent electrification of railway lines in Telangana has already been achieved.
He also stated that the indigenous railway safety systems Kavach and Kavach 2.0 are being implemented in Telangana to enhance operational safety and prevent train accidents. In addition, five Vande Bharat Express trains are currently operating from Hyderabad, strengthening high-speed rail connectivity in the region.
On industrial infrastructure, Kishan Reddy said the rail coach manufacturing unit at Kazipet is around 90 per cent complete and is expected to be inaugurated soon by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Looking ahead, the Minister said the proposed high-speed rail corridors connecting Hyderabad with Bengaluru and Pune would be transformative for Telangana, boosting industrial growth, improving regional connectivity and easing traffic congestion through faster travel.

Aruna and several other BJP leaders were also present on the occasion.
