Hyderabad, Telangana: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Dasoju Sravan Kumar has praised the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) for its swift action against MLC Mirza Rahmath Baig following the emergence of videos and allegations against him.

Reacting to the controversy, Sravan Kumar described Baig’s alleged conduct as “highly obnoxious,” saying it was unacceptable for a person holding a constitutional office and serving as a Member of the Legislative Council.

He commended AIMIM for acting promptly after the videos surfaced on social media. Sravan Kumar praised AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi for suspending Baig from the party, stripping him of his MLC position, and ensuring that he tendered his resignation from the Legislative Council.

According to the BRS leader, AIMIM’s decision has set a high benchmark for political accountability and reinforces the principle that public representatives must be held responsible for their actions.

He also urged the Telangana State Police to conduct a thorough investigation, register appropriate cases, and take strict legal action. Sravan Kumar stressed that the authorities must send a strong message that no one in Telangana will be spared if they mistreat women.
