Khammam Collector Lauds Retiring Revenue Officer K. Srinivasa Rao for 31 Years of Dedicated Public Service

Khammam, August 30: Khammam District Collector Divakara T.S. on Sunday said that honesty, discipline and dedication are the greatest assets of a government employee, emphasizing that sincere public service earns lasting respect even after retirement.

He was speaking at a felicitation ceremony organized at the Khammam Collectorate to honour Karumanchi Srinivasa Rao, who retired as the Collectorate Administrative Officer in the Tahsildar cadre after completing 31 years of service in the Revenue Department.

Addressing the gathering, the Collector said a government job is not merely a source of livelihood but a valuable opportunity to bring positive change to people’s lives. He praised Srinivasa Rao for discharging his responsibilities efficiently in various capacities throughout his career and for providing quality public service with commitment and integrity.

Divakara T.S. highlighted Srinivasa Rao’s disciplined work ethic, punctuality, sense of responsibility and ability to coordinate effectively with colleagues. He noted that the retiring officer possessed the rare ability to understand people’s problems, anticipate their needs and resolve issues through cooperation and coordination. While maintaining firmness whenever required, Srinivasa Rao was equally known for his courteous and friendly approach towards colleagues and staff, the Collector said.

The Collector observed that during the months he worked with Srinivasa Rao, he witnessed his balanced leadership style—firm in administration yet compassionate in personal interactions. He added that the respect and goodwill Srinivasa Rao enjoys among officers and employees reflect the reputation and credibility he earned through years of dedicated service. The presence of officials from other districts at the farewell ceremony, he said, was a testament to the admiration he commands.

Emphasizing that a good name, trust and respect are the true wealth of a public servant, Divakara T.S. urged government employees to uphold public confidence through honest and committed service. He said Srinivasa Rao’s dedication, professionalism and collaborative approach would remain an inspiration for younger employees.

The Collector also acknowledged the role of family members in the success of government employees, stating that their support and understanding are invaluable throughout a public servant’s career. He appreciated the support extended by Srinivasa Rao’s family during his long years of service.

Stating that retirement marks only the end of official service and not of life itself, the Collector wished Srinivasa Rao a healthy, peaceful and happy post-retirement life. He encouraged him to spend more time with his family and continue contributing to society by sharing his vast administrative experience with younger generations.

Speaking on the occasion, Karumanchi Srinivasa Rao expressed gratitude to senior officers, colleagues, staff and his family for their constant support throughout his career. He said serving the government had been a deeply satisfying experience and that he would always cherish the memories and experiences gained during his three-decade-long journey in public service.

The programme was attended by DRO Ramamurthy, DSDO Sunil Reddy, DRDO Sriram, Minority Welfare Officer Mujahid, District Animal Husbandry Officer Dr. Purandar, Deputy Labour Commissioner K. Vijayabhaskar Reddy, district officials from various departments, Tahsildars, Collectorate staff, retired employees and members of Srinivasa Rao’s family.
