Hyderabad, August 26, 2026: The Young India Physical Education & Sports University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Korea National Sport University (KNSU), one of the leading institutions in the world for high-performance sports.

Sharing the development, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy recalled his previous visit to South Korea, where he met a senior delegation from KNSU, including its President Moon Won-Jae. The discussions focused on establishing a partnership between KNSU and the proposed Young India Sports University.

The Chief Minister said the partnership goes beyond an MoU and will create a bridge between Telangana’s sporting talent and global best practices in athlete training, sports science and high-performance education. He noted that KNSU-trained athletes contributed 16 of South Korea’s 32 medals at the Paris Olympics.

Revanth Reddy said Telangana aims to bring KNSU’s culture of sporting excellence to the state and provide young athletes with opportunities to learn from global expertise. He appreciated Sports Minister Vakiti Srihari, Sports Ministry officials and the Young India Sports University team for driving the initiative.

He said Telangana is preparing young athletes from villages and towns for the Olympic stage as India looks towards the 2036 Olympics. “Young India. Sporting India,” he said.
