PIB’s Role Crucial in Taking Central Government Schemes to People: Telangana Governor

Hyderabad, August 21, 2026: Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Friday highlighted the crucial role of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) in taking Central Government schemes, policies and programmes to the people.

The Governor called for wider dissemination of information about Central schemes to ensure that people are aware of the benefits available to them and are able to access and effectively utilise them.

A delegation led by Shruti Patil, Additional Director General, PIB, including Dr. Manas Krishnakanth, Joint Director, PIB, and K. Srinivasa Rao, Assistant Director, Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), met the Governor at Lok Bhavan.

During the meeting, Shruti Patil briefed the Governor about the activities of PIB and CBC in Telangana, including efforts to disseminate information on Central Government policies, schemes and programmes through media and public outreach initiatives.

She also explained initiatives such as ‘Vartalaps’, press tours for journalists and Integrated Communication and Outreach Programmes (ICOPs) conducted by CBC in rural areas.

Shruti Patil invited the Governor to participate in an ICOP on Poshan Abhiyaan, which is scheduled to be organised in September as part of Poshan Maah.

The delegation also presented the Governor with a book on Mahatma Gandhi, published by the Directorate of Publications Division, along with publications highlighting the achievements of the Government of India over the past 12 years.

Earlier, Lalit Varma, a retired IAS officer from Uttar Pradesh, also called on Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Lok Bhavan.
