Telangana to Become Clean Energy Manufacturing Hub: Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka

Hyderabad: August 18 (Patriotic Views) Telangana is emerging as a major destination for investment and aims to transform itself into a global hub for clean energy manufacturing, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said on Tuesday.

The Deputy CM inaugurated the two-day India Energy Summit & Expo 2026 at HITEX and Novotel in Hyderabad. Addressing industrialists, investors, innovators, scientists, CEOs and technology experts, he warmly invited them to invest and grow with Telangana.

Bhatti Vikramarka said the government views Telangana as a “paradise for investors” and is committed to creating an environment that supports investment, innovation and economic growth. He said the state’s energy transition is not limited to changing electricity sources but is aimed at transforming the wider economic system.

Telangana has set an ambitious target of increasing its solar power capacity to 20,000 MW by 2030 and over 26,000 MW by 2035. The state also plans to expand energy storage capacity through battery and pumped-storage projects to 3,800 MW by 2030 and 8,000 MW by 2035.

The Deputy CM said Hyderabad’s strengths in IT and artificial intelligence will be used to build a digitally connected future power grid. A dedicated 100 MW renewable energy plant is also being planned to support an AI data centre in the proposed Bharat Future City.

Telangana is targeting the production of 4 lakh tonnes of green hydrogen annually by 2030** and plans to establish 12,000 EV charging stations by 2035. Companies manufacturing solar, wind and battery components in the state will be eligible for capital support, SGST reimbursement, electricity duty exemptions and fast-track approvals through TG-iPASS.

Bhatti Vikramarka stressed that the clean energy transformation would require strong government-private partnerships and urged investors and industry leaders to join hands with Telangana.

Following the inauguration, the Deputy CM visited various exhibition stalls at the summit. Energy Special Chief Secretary Navin Mittal and other senior officials were also present.
