Vote for Congress Candidates… We Are Committed to Implementing Promises Large-scale welfare schemes are being implemented in Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Minister Ponnam Prabhakar campaign in Puducherry Assembly elections
Hyderabad: 3 April 2026 Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu urged voters to elect the candidates supported by the Congress–DMK alliance with a huge majority to protect democracy and safeguard the dignity and freedom granted by the Constitution.
On Friday evening, along with Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Puducherry PCC President Vaidyalingam, he campaigned extensively in the Manavely Assembly constituency in support of Congress candidate Anantharaman, and in the M. Balam constituency in support of Congress candidate Lakshmikant. Addressing the local people, the Deputy Chief Minister appealed to voters to bring the Congress party back to power and “save Puducherry.”
He assured that the SPA alliance, comprising Congress and DMK, is firmly committed to implementing all the promises it has made. He cautioned voters not to believe the misinformation being spread by the NDA alliance regarding the implementation of these guarantees. He emphasized that electing the SPA alliance is the only way to ensure a bright future for Puducherry.
Responding to doubts about whether guarantees can be implemented, the Deputy Chief Minister said Telangana itself is the answer. He stated that immediately after coming to power, the Congress government in Telangana began implementing its guarantees from the very first Cabinet meeting. He highlighted that farm loans worth ₹21,000 crore belonging to 2.5 million farmer families have been waived. Additionally, ₹18,000 crore is being provided annually under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, at ₹12,000 per acre for farmers.
He further stated that 67,173 government jobs have been filled, with recruitment completed across departments and appointment letters distributed transparently in the presence of the public. Under the Mahalakshmi scheme, free bus travel has been provided to women, and the RTC—operating 10,000 buses with 50,000 employees—has been turned from losses into profits. Women are saving ₹6,000 to ₹7,000 per month due to free bus travel.
He added that 200 units of free electricity are being provided, and 450,000 Indiramma houses have been sanctioned, with ₹5 lakh allocated for each house. The ₹500 gas cylinder scheme is also being implemented. He noted that efforts are being made to transform women into bus owners and entrepreneurs.
Expressing confidence, the Deputy Chief Minister said that under the Telangana Rising Vision Document–2047, the state aims to become a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047. He added that Telangana’s growth rate stands at 10.8% and asserted that development is possible without increasing taxes, which the government has successfully demonstrated.
