Kalvakuntla Kavitha Supports Outsourcing Employees’ Protest at Dharna Chowk; Issues Apology and Warning to Government

Hyderabad, March 29, 2026

Dharna Chowk near Indira Park witnessed a major protest as the Telangana State Outsourcing Employees JAC staged a dharna, receiving support from Kalvakuntla Kavitha, President of Telangana Jagruthi.

Addressing the gathering, Kavitha made a public apology, stating that she could not deliver justice to outsourcing employees during the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government.

“I was part of the previous government and share responsibility for not bringing change in your lives. I sincerely seek your forgiveness,” she said.

Kavitha demanded the immediate formation of a dedicated corporation for outsourcing employees, asserting that the issue could be resolved without placing any financial burden on the government. She accused the current administration of favoring private agencies while neglecting nearly 5 lakh workers.

She warned that if five lakh employees take out a massive march on the streets of Hyderabad, the government would be compelled to act. “We are giving the government two days to resolve the issue. Orders ensuring job security across all departments must be issued, and an outsourcing employees’ corporation should be formed immediately,” she said.

Kavitha criticized the silence of intellectuals like M. Kodandaram and G. Haragopal, calling it detrimental to employees’ welfare.

She further stated that Telangana Jagruthi would stand firmly with the employees until their demands are met. Highlighting systemic issues, she said around 900 agencies benefit from outsourcing, while employees are denied rightful benefits, including maternity leave for women workers.

Kavitha also announced that Telangana Jagruthi would soon transform into a political party, with a clear policy to abolish outsourcing and contract employment systems, ensuring only regular government jobs for effective delivery of public services.

Recalling the Telangana movement, she said, “Your struggle resembles another Telangana आंदोलन. Just like we achieved statehood through mass movements, a united protest by employees can bring immediate results.”

She assured continued support to the protest and reiterated her commitment to fight relentlessly until a permanent solution is achieved.
