Largest G+2 Multi-Purpose Function Hall Inaugurated in Khairatabad Constituency

Hyderabad, January 23, 2026:
The largest G+2 Multi-Purpose Function Hall in the Khairatabad Assembly Constituency was inaugurated on Friday at NBT Nagar by District In-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Greater Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi.
Constructed at a cost of ₹10 crore, the spacious and modern facility is designed to serve the needs of the local community. The inaugural ceremony was attended by State Government Advisor K. Kesava Rao, MP Anil Kumar Yadav, MLC Balmur Venkat, Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Shobhan Reddy, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, Zonal Commissioner Priyanka, and several other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said that constructing such a large multi-purpose hall in a prime and expensive area of Hyderabad was a remarkable achievement. He stated that the hall would be highly beneficial for weddings of poor and middle-class families, women’s group meetings, government programs, and student activities. He praised Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi for overcoming several hurdles and completing the project, calling it a memorable milestone in her public life. On the occasion, he felicitated the Mayor with a shawl.
The Minister also highlighted various welfare schemes being implemented by the Praja Government, including ration cards, fine rice distribution, free household electricity, free RTC travel for women, and interest-free loans. He expressed confidence that Hyderabad’s development would accelerate further under the Chief Minister’s vision.
Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi said that the NBT Nagar G+2 Multi-Purpose Function Hall was the result of a decade-long struggle. Built with ₹10 crore under the Praja Government, the hall is fully equipped to host social, government, women’s, and student programs. She said the government aims to bring 15 lakh women into Self-Help Groups and empower them through skill development programs. She also mentioned that CC roads worth ₹10 crore were recently taken up in Banjara Hills Division and reaffirmed her commitment to serving the people regardless of being in power or not.
MP Anil Kumar Yadav said the hall was designed to serve the needs of poor, middle-class families and women, and noted that it was the first such large function hall in the slum areas of Hyderabad.
Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Shobhan Reddy expressed happiness over the inauguration of such a large facility in NBT Nagar, Banjara Hills Division, and congratulated Mayor Vijayalakshmi for her special initiative. She said that both of them have worked together like sisters over the past five years for the development of Greater Hyderabad.
