Second Dr. Omar Khalidi Memorial Lecture 2025 to Be Held at Govt. Degree College for Women, Hussaini Alam

Hyderabad:
The Department of Political Science, Govt. Degree College for Women, Hussaini Alam, is organizing the Second Dr. Omar Khalidi Memorial Lecture – 2025 on January 21, 2026 (Wednesday) at Khurshid Jah Hall, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

The memorial lecture, held in remembrance of Dr. Omar Khalidi, will be delivered on the topic “Issues of Identity and Representation: Perspectives of Indian Muslims.”
The keynote lecture will be delivered by Dr. Amir Ullah Khan, Hon’ble Member, TGPSC, and noted educationist and development economist.

The programme will be presided over by Prof. Ch. Appiya Chinnamma, Principal and Chairperson of the college.
Prof. Siddiqui Mohd Mahmood, Dean, Students Welfare, MANUU, Hyderabad, will attend as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Mohammed Safiullah, eminent scholar, academician and historian, will grace the occasion as the Distinguished Guest.

The lecture is being coordinated by Dr. Farhana Sultana, Faculty & Coordinator, under the convenorship of Dr. Mohammed Ghouse, Head of the Department of Political Science. Logistic support for the programme is being provided by Asra Fatima and R. Shreshta.

The organizers stated that the memorial lecture aims to promote academic discourse on contemporary socio-political issues, while also honoring the scholarly legacy of Dr. Omar Khalidi and inspiring students towards critical thinking and research in political science.
