Ban on Highway Celebrations, DJs, Firecrackers; Tight Checks on Drunken Driving and Drugs

Narayanpet Dec 30 ( Abdul Raheem / Patriotic Views) District Superintendent of Police Dr. Vineeth has appealed to the public to celebrate the New Year in a peaceful and responsible manner, warning that strict legal action will be taken against anyone who violates rules and regulations.
Extending New Year greetings to the people of the district, the SP stated that celebrations on national highways and major roads on the night of December 31 are strictly prohibited. He strongly advised citizens not to drive vehicles under the influence of alcohol and urged two-wheeler riders to avoid overspeeding, which could lead to fatal accidents and cause distress to their families.
He directed liquor shop owners to sell alcohol only within the stipulated hours and cautioned against people moving in groups at midnight and creating fear or disturbance among the public. To prevent any untoward incidents, enhanced police patrolling will be arranged within the limits of every police station, he said.
Dr. Vineeth advised students and youth to celebrate the New Year in a friendly and positive atmosphere, encouraging them to set higher goals for the future. Emphasizing women’s safety, he stated that She Teams will conduct special monitoring during the celebrations.
To ensure maintenance of law and order, traffic police, task force personnel, She Teams, and patrolling units will remain on high alert. He made it clear that DJs are not permitted and that there will be a complete ban on bursting firecrackers.
Special checks will be conducted to prevent the use of drugs during New Year celebrations, and stringent action will be taken against drug suppliers. Bars and wine shops must close strictly as per prescribed timings, and selling alcohol to minors will invite severe punishment, he warned.
The SP further stated that drunken driving checks will be implemented rigorously and that vehicle owners who allow minors to drive will face strict legal action. To prevent reckless driving, bike racing, and overspeeding during late-night hours, tight police bandobast will be in place across the district.
