Major Development Works Launched in Nizamabad to Solve Drinking Water Crisis

Nizamabad, December 30 (MD Akber-Patriotic Patriotic Views): In a major step to permanently resolve the drinking water problem in Nizamabad town, the government on Tuesday launched development works costing 6.50 crore, with Government Adviser Mohammed Ali Shabbir laying the foundation stone for modern water tanks. A meeting later at KK Garden Function Hall brought together public representatives, officials and Congress party leaders to review development issues. Addressing the gathering, Mohammed Ali Shabbir said the government was taking decisions considering rapid population growth and urban expansion, and reaffirmed the Congress government’s commitment to basic infrastructure. He said providing clean drinking water to every household was the primary objective, calling water a basic right, and stressed that no home should face hardship during summer. He expressed confidence that the project would permanently end water scarcity in many areas. Under the project, a 16-lakh-litre water tank costing 2.50 crore will be built at Autonagar, while 9-lakh-litre tanks costing 1.50 crore each will come up at Sailani Nagar and near Madina Eidgah, ensuring uninterrupted water supply there.
