Heavy Police Deployment for Third Phase of Panchayat Polls in Bhainsa

Nirmal, Dec. 16(Abdul Majid): The Nirmal district police have put in place elaborate security arrangements for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the third phase of Panchayat elections scheduled to be held on Wednesday in the Bhainsa sub-division.

District Superintendent of Police Dr G. Janaki Sharmila, IPS, said that around 1,000 police officers and personnel have been deployed as part of a massive bandobast. She made it clear that there would be no compromise on election security and directed the entire police machinery to remain on high alert.

Addressing police officers and staff during a review meeting, the SP said that all polling stations have been classified as normal, critical and highly sensitive, with additional forces deployed at vulnerable locations to prevent any untoward incidents. Special focus is being laid on maintaining law and order in every village.

Dr Janaki Sharmila warned that strict action would be taken against any illegal activities during the polling process. She appealed to political parties, candidates and the public to strictly adhere to the election code of conduct and extend full cooperation to the police to ensure free and fair elections.

She also instructed all officers and bandobast staff to discharge their duties with utmost responsibility and coordination so that the democratic exercise is conducted in a peaceful and transparent manner.

The review meeting was attended by Bhainsa Additional SP Rajesh Meena, inspectors, RIs, SIs, RSIs and other police personnel.
