CP Reviews Third-Phase Gram Panchayat Poll Arrangements in Armoor Division
Emphasis on strict enforcement of election code, foolproof security, and peaceful voting
Nizamabad, December 15 (MD Akber- Patriotic Views): As part of preparations for the third phase of Gram Panchayat elections, Nizamabad Police Commissioner P. Sai Chaitanya, IPS, conducted a comprehensive review meeting with police officials of the Armoor Division at the Armoor ACP Office, directing them to ensure that voters are able to exercise their franchise in a peaceful and fear-free atmosphere. The Commissioner instructed officials to strictly enforce the election code of conduct and to identify sensitive and hyper-sensitive polling stations within the division for deployment of strengthened security arrangements to prevent any untoward incidents. He ordered clear marking around polling stations to curb campaigning and display of election symbols and advised the use of striking forces wherever necessary to disperse unlawful gatherings. Stressing zero tolerance towards money, liquor, or other inducements, he directed that inter-state and inter-district check posts be operated effectively to prevent illegal transportation. Village Police Officers were instructed to maintain close surveillance in their respective villages and gather advance intelligence to ensure calm polling. He further warned that polling staff must report to their assigned booths early on election day, discharge duties responsibly until completion of vote counting, resist any inducements, and strictly follow guidelines, failing which immediate action would be taken.
