Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Tuesday inspected the arrangements at Manakondur Cheruvu ahead of Ganesh immersion in Karimnagar. He was accompanied by former Mayor Sunil Rao, along with revenue and police officials.

Speaking to the media, the Minister urged devotees to conduct the immersion peacefully without giving scope for any untoward incidents. He advised that Ganesh idols should be moved for immersion early in the morning to avoid delays.

Bandi Sanjay said that Ganesh Utsav is a festival deeply rooted in devotion and patriotism, recalling how Bal Gangadhar Tilak introduced Ganesh festivals to unite Hindus during the freedom struggle against the British. He warned against false propaganda that misleads people about the festival and stressed that Ganesh Utsav symbolizes unity, discipline, and devotion.

Highlighting the festive spirit, the Minister noted that this year the number of Ganesh pandals has increased compared to previous years, with even children enthusiastically setting up idols in their neighborhoods. Many devotees are taking religious vows and engaging their communities in prayers and rituals.

He appreciated the efforts of officials in making elaborate arrangements, including increasing the number of cranes and swimmers, ensuring drinking water and other facilities, and clearing power lines and trees along procession routes. He assured that the police would not trouble devotees and urged people to immediately report any difficulties to authorities instead of believing in rumors.

Bandi Sanjay emphasized that Karimnagar has successfully conducted Ganesh immersion peacefully for the past decade, and this year too, devotees must uphold the same tradition by demonstrating unity and discipline.

“Tomorrow, let us complete the immersion early, in a devotional and disciplined manner, sending out a message of inspiration from Karimnagar to the entire society,” he said.
