CM Revanth Reddy Pays Glowing Tributes to Maganti Gopinath in Assembly

Patriotic Views Hyderabad | 30 August 2025 A condolence resolution was moved in the Legislative Assembly today, where Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy remembered the life and contributions of Maganti Gopinath, who passed away recently.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Gopinath was an active personality right from his student days. He began his political journey in 1983 with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and went on to play an important role in youth politics. Between 1985 and 1992, he served as the President of Telugu Yuvata in the undivided Andhra Pradesh, inspiring young cadres with his dynamic leadership.

Highlighting his public service record, Revanth Reddy noted that Gopinath served as the Director of the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) from 1987–88 and as a member of the District Consumer Forum from 1988–93. He was also described as a staunch follower of N.T. Rama Rao (NTR).

Apart from politics, Gopinath also made a mark in the film industry as a producer, bringing out movies such as Patabasti (1995), Ravanna (2000), Bhadradri Ramudu (2004), and Na Style Veru (2009).

Calling him a close personal friend, Revanth Reddy said:

“Though we belonged to different political parties, personally he was always a good friend of mine. He is among the few who achieved the rare distinction of being elected as an MLA for three consecutive terms. Though he appeared as a class personality, in Jubilee Hills constituency he was a true mass leader.”

The Chief Minister added that Gopinath’s untimely demise was an irreparable loss to his family and extended heartfelt condolences, praying for eternal peace to the departed soul.
